Mobile ADAS calibration
We bring the calibration to the vehicle rather than the vehicle to the calibration. For a shop running a bay short, or an owner who would rather not drive an uncalibrated car across town, that is the entire point.
How mobile calibration works
A mobile calibration is the same procedure performed in the same sequence as one done in a fixed facility. What changes is where the equipment goes. The technician arrives with the target system, the scan tooling, and access to the OEM procedure for that specific vehicle, and performs whichever calibration the manufacturer specifies.
What does not change is the specification. A static calibration performed at your site still requires the conditions the manufacturer defines, because those conditions are part of the procedure rather than a preference.
What a site needs for static work
Static calibration requires physical targets placed at measured distances and heights in front of the vehicle. In practice that means:
- A flat, level surface — a sloped driveway changes the vehicle's reference geometry.
- Clear space in front of the vehicle for target placement, with the amount depending on the manufacturer's specification for that model.
- Controlled, consistent lighting without direct glare onto the targets.
- Shelter from wind, which can disturb target positioning.
A level garage, a shop bay, or a covered lot generally works. An uneven driveway in direct afternoon sun generally does not. We confirm site suitability when booking rather than discovering it on arrival — that conversation takes a minute and saves a wasted visit.
What dynamic work needs
Dynamic calibration is performed on the road, so the requirement moves from your site to the surrounding roads and the weather: dry conditions, clearly marked lanes, a stretch permitting a defined speed to be held, and adequate daylight. Where conditions do not permit it on the day, we will say so and reschedule rather than return a vehicle with an incomplete procedure.
Vehicle preparation
Manufacturers specify vehicle conditions for calibration — typically correct tyre pressures, no excess load in the vehicle, and in some cases a specified fuel level. These affect ride height, and ride height is part of the reference the camera is being aligned against. We will tell you what your vehicle needs before the appointment.
