What is ADAS?

ADAS stands for “Advanced Driver(s) Assistance Systems.” These systems depend on cameras, lasers, and radar, often with the camera mounted on the windshield. Whenever a new windshield is installed, the camera must be calibrated to ensure it functions correctly and to restore it to OEM specifications.

Examples of ADAS applications are:

What is Calibration?

Calibration involves restoring a vehicle’s ADAS to OEM specifications. It is essential after installing new glass, especially a windshield with a mounted camera, to ensure that the ADAS features continue to operate correctly despite being repositioned during installation.

What Will Happen If Not Calibrated?

If a car’s ADAS is not correctly calibrated, the system may not function safely. If the cameras, radars, or lasers on the vehicle are off by even a few millimeters, they may not provide accurate readings, and the system may not operate properly.
A misaligned camera could compromise the system’s functionality and lead to dangerous driving or accidents. Therefore, it is crucial that the cameras are perfectly aligned, which is what windshield calibration ensures.

WHY CHOOSE US?

HOW DO I GET MY WINDSHIELD RE-CALIBRATED?

When a windshield is replaced, the camera must be removed from the bracket and unplugged from the car. After the replacement, the camera needs to be reattached and re-calibrated. If this is not done by the installer, you will need to visit the dealer to have the vehicle calibrated.
We make it easy to get your windshield re-calibrated. The Windshield Calibration Center is one of the few companies nationwide with the capability, technical knowledge, and expertise to safely and properly calibrate new ADAS windshields. It is dangerous to have your windshield replaced without re-calibrating the system. Only hire a company that is technically trained and equipped for ADAS windshield re-calibration.
